Israel Horovitz's New Shorts: nine actors, nine new plays begins previews Jan. 3 at Theatre Row. The limited engagement will officially open Jan. 11 and play through Jan. 21.

The work is directed by Horovitz and Michael LoPorto, with special choreography by Yvonne Marceau. The cast includes Jeremy Brena, Lynn Cohen, Maia Sage Ermansons , Stephanie Janssen, Kendra Leigh Landon, Victoria Malvagno, Francisco Solorzano and Christopher Whalen. The producer is the Barefoot Theatre Company. The work is one of a string of three Horovitz works this winter. A revival of Lebensraum, in which a German chancellor invites six million Jews to relocate to Germany, began at Theatre Row Dec. 13, 2006, and ran through Dec. 30. The cast included T. Ryder Smith (Underneath the Lintel, Thom Pain (based on nothing)), Suli Holum and Ryan Young.

Horovitz's new play The Secret of Mme. Bonnard's Bath, which begins in February at Theatre Row, will be the first production of the new producing wing of the New York Playwrights Lab, a playwriting society that Horovitz founded in 1975.
