The orchestra's anniversary performances in Tel Aviv constituted a 12-day music festival that included Yefim Bronfman, Gustavo Dudamel, Valery Gergiev, Evgeny Kissin, Radu Lupu, Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, Gil Shaham and Maxim Vengerov. The celebrations also involved the release of a 12-disc retrospective covering 50 years of the Israel Philharmonic's history; a 13-part series of two-hour radio segments broadcast throughout the U.S. and hosted by Itzhak Perlman; and gala performances in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
