Farewell to dramatist Nissim Aloni, who brought a sense of play and fantasy to a mostly reality-based theatre in modern Israel. Aloni, 72, died of a stroke June 13, according to a June 15 obituary in NY Newsday. Yitzhak Levy, Israel's minister for education and culture, was quoted as saying "In [Aloni's] plays and stories combined light and color, drama and comedy, song and laughter."
Aloni's plays include 1953's Most Cruel The King.
