The show is the third Broadway show to cut short its run, following Bobbi Boland and Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All.

Room, which paired the usually solo comic with supporting cast in song and dance, opened Nov. 19 to a barrage of critical pans. Previews began at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre Oct. 23.

The production will have played 31 previews and 14 performances by its run's end.

The new musical within the show is staged as part of the show through "sexy, hilarious and even nude sketches, songs and production numbers," a release explains.

Laughing Room Only is written by comedian-songwriter Dennis Blair based on a concept by writer Digby Wolfe with music by Doug Katsaros.

Robert Johanson (former artistic director of Paper Mill: The State Theatre of New Jersey) directed a cast that also includes Darrin Baker (Sunset Boulevard, Footloose), Robert Creighton (The Lion King, — Toronto and Los Angeles), Barry Finkel (Side Show, High Society), Ruth Gottschall (The Music Man,... Forum) and Cheryl Stern (The Women, That's Life).

The songlist includes "Million Dollar Musical," "French Chanteuse," "This Jew Can Sing," "Frieda From Fresno," "Only in Manhattan," "Starbucks," "Comedy Ambulance," "Jackie’s Signature Song," "I Need a Man," "Perfect," "Jew Gentile Tap-Off," "Tea Time," "Musical Chairs," and "Finale."

Michael Lichtefeld handled choreography and Joseph Baker serves as the musical director. The design team features Michael Anania (set), Thom Heyer (costume), Paul D. Miller (lighting) and Peter Hylenski (sound).

The new Broadway presentation is produced by Jyll Rosenfeld and Jon Stoll and James Scibelli in association with Sidney Kimmel, John Morgan and the Helen Hayes Theatre Company.
