Much of the cast and creative team from last season's American Repertory Theatre production of The Night of the Iguana will reunite June 11 for The Acting Company benefit reading of the Tennessee Williams play.

The cast will reunite Tony Award winners James Earl Jones, Amanda Plummer, and Elizabeth Ashley, two-time Emmy Award winner Dana Delany, and Drama Desk Award winners Bill Heck and Susannah Perkins, who will lead the reading’s all-star cast.

The Night of the Iguana will be performed for one night only at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College at 7 PM. The reading is directed by Michael Wilson (who helmed the A.R.T. production).

Rounding out the cast of the benefit reading will be Acting Company founding member Dakin Matthews (The Iceman Cometh, Waitress), Brian Cross (The Snow Geese), Stacia Fernandez (Mamma Mia!), Richmond Hoxie (I’m Not Rappaport), and Hannah Sharafian, along with A.R.T. cast members Kiko Macan, Matt Morrison, and Mike Turner.

Based on Williams' 1948 short story, The Night of the Iguana is about a group of troubled travelers who find shelter from a storm in a ramshackle resort on the edge of the Mexican jungle.

The creative team for the benefit staging includes David Lander (lighting design) and John Gromada (original music and sound design). The Night of the Iguana is presented by special arrangement with the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.
