Best of Enemies will follow up its world premiere at London's Young Vic last year with a West End transfer, due to begin in November at a theatre to be determined. Written by James Graham (Ink, Labour of Love) and based on the 2015 documentary of the same name by Morgan Neville and Robert Gordon, Best of Enemies centers on a series of televised debates between staunch conservative William F. Buckley Jr. and iconoclastic liberal Gore Vidal during the 1968 presidential election.

Jeremy Herrin will again be at the helm after directing the Olivier-nominated Young Vic world premiere, with casting and creative team to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Young Vic production, which ran at the London theatre December 4, 2021–January 22, 2022, starred David Harewood and Charles Edwards as Buckley and Vidal, respectively, along with Emilio Doorgasingh, Clare Foster, Tom Godwin, John Hodgkinson, Justina Kehinde, Syrus Lowe, Kevin McMonagle, and Sam Otto.

Herrin's creative team included 2022 Tony-winning scenic designer Bunny Christie (Company), lighting designer Paule Constable, sound designer Tom Gibbons, video designer Luke Halls, composer Benjamin Kwasi Burrell, and movement director Shelley Maxwell. Casting was by Charlotte Sutton.
