News Jamie Muscato to Join West End Company of Bend It Like Beckham Jamie Muscato, previously seen on the London stage in the U.K. premiere of Dogfight at Southwark Playhouse and recently seen as Anthony Hope in the Welsh National Opera production of Sweeney Todd, is to join the West End cast of Bend It Like Beckham The Musical, beginning performances Dec. 14.



He will take over as the football coach Joe, who coaches the all-female football team the Harriers, from Jamie Campbell Bower, who originated the role (and, coincidentally, played Anthony Hope when he starred in the film version of the musical). 

Muscato joins Natalie Dew as football crazy Jess and Lauren Samuels as Jess' friend Jules, Sophie-Louise Dann as Jules' mother Paula, Jamal Andréas as Jess' good friend Tony, Preeya Kalidas as Jess' sister Pinky and Tony Jayawardena and Natasha Jayetileke as Jess' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bhamra.



Muscato's other theatre credits include House of Mirrors and Hearts for the Arcola Theatre, The Light Princess for the National Theatre, Rock of Ages at the Shaftesbury Theatre, Love Story at the Duchess Theatre and Spring Awakening at the Lyric Hammersmith and Novello Theatres.
