Cabaret and singing star Jane Olivor will appear at the Bay Street Theatre on July 20 as part of the company's "Summer Tuesdays" cabaret series. Olivor will perform two shows, at 7 PM and 9:30 PM, both accompanied by Ken Bichel.
Olivor has been away from performing for nearly a decade. She first came to prominence in 1976, when she released her first album, "First Night." She went on to record several more albums, as well as the 1979 duet with Johnny Mathis, "The Last Time I Felt Like This." She performed the song at the 51st annual Academy Awards ceremony.
Also scheduled for future "Summer Tuesday" are: € Phillip Officer, the New York-based cabaret singer, performing July 27, 9 PM.
€ Mary Cleere Haran, with accompanist Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, who, together, performed an all-Gershwin show at the Algonquin's Oak Room last fall. The will perform Aug. 24 at 8 PM. € Julie Halston, the comedienne and sometimes actress, Aug. 31 at 8 PM.
