Entitled Shafrika, The White Girl, the new work was penned by recent Xanadu star Anika Larsen. April Nickell, who co-conceived Shafrika, will direct the Nov. 8-23 run. Theatre and casting have not been announced. Shafrika, according to press notes, asks, "What do you get when you toss 10 kids of different races into one family and stir? In Jaradoa Theater's new play with music, our members engage in a unique exploration of race, identity and family."

Anika Larsen, who most recently played Euterpe in Broadway's Xanadu, has also been seen on Broadway in All Shook Up and Rent and Off-Broadway in Zanna, Don't!; Miracle Brothers; and How to Save the World and Find True Love in 90 Minutes.

Jaradoa (Just A Roomful of Artists Doing Outreach And) Theater is a company of professional theatre artists, who are equally devoted to productions and to performance-based outreach. "They do theater that promotes mercy, beauty and truth in an environment where artists thrive, and use storytelling to address brokenness in their community."
