News Jason and Ben Begins NYMF Run Sept. 24 A dangerous love affair is the subject of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's production of Jason and Ben, which begins performances at the 45th Street Theater Sept. 24.

The 90-minute musical, featuring book, music and lyrics by Matthew Loren Cohen, has already extended its NYMF engagement with an additional performance on Sept. 27. James Beaudry directs the production; performances continue through Oct. 5.

The two-hander stars A Chorus Line's Will Taylor and Zach Fischer.

Jason and Ben, according to press notes, "tells the story of two gay men, 32-year-old Jason and 23-year-old Ben, who meet in a New York City park on Christmas Eve. Both failed musicians, they play a game of sexual and psychological manipulation building violently to an unpredictable end."

Taylor, who has appeared on Broadway in A Chorus Line, La Cage aux Folles and The Producers, appears as Ben, alongside musician and actor Fischer as Jason. Both actors are also singer-songwriters.

Designing Jason and Ben are David Towlun (scenic design), Jameson Eaton (costume design), Matthew Guminski (lighting design) and Jacob Grigolia-Rosenbaum (fight choreography). Adam Wachter serves as musical director. For tickets and production details visit nymf.org
