Playbill.com has learned that the reading will be directed by Jason Moore (Avenue Q) with musical direction by Andy Einhorn (Sondheim on Sondheim).
The cast will boast Tony winner Betty Buckley, Leslie Kritzer, Susan Blackwell, Mary Faber, Tovah Feldshuh and Alexa Robertson as the young, scheming Tina Denmark.

The original production of Ruthless! received the 1993 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical and the Drama Desk Award for Best Lyrics (Joel Paley). Laura Bell Bundy, who originated the role of Tina Denmark, was nominated for both Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards.
"Eight-year-old Tina Denmark knows she was born to play Pippi Longstocking," according to previous Ruthless! production notes, "and she will do anything to win the part in her school musical. Anything includes murdering the leading lady!"
