Brown, a respected musician and songwriter, will be seen in concert with the Caucasian Rhythm Kings Feb. 20-21 at CCPA. He will teach a single master class in Broadway musical performance on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 21.
"This rare opportunity," press notes state, "will allow individuals to perform on stage and receive instruction and critiquing from Brown," who won a Best Score Tony Award for the musical Parade.
Performers must submit a headshot and resume, along with a completed application form — which can be found at www.covinacenter.com — to [email protected].
Completed submissions must be received by Feb. 2, and notification of selection will be by e-mail. Those chosen will be charged $100 and will be seated onstage for the event.
The master class will be held at The Covina Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 21 from 1-4 PM. Gallery seats will be sold for $15 and can be purchased online at www.covinacenter.com/ticketing.htm or by calling the box office at (626) 331-8133.
