Jay Armstrong Johnson and Johanna Moise

Broadway's Jay Armstrong Johnson and Johanna Moise will lead a reading of the new musical Psyche November 10 and 11 at the DiMenna Center.

Based on the Ancient Greek myth of Psyche and Eros, the show features a score by Jake Landau and a libretto by Emily Garber. In addition to Johnson and Moise, the company features to Dan Hoy (Between the Lines, Cats), Arica Jackson (The Book of Mormon, Caroline, or Change, Head Over Heels), Elisabeth Stevens (Metropolitan Opera), Claire Leyden, Jason Detwiler, Michele Detwiler, Jack Quinn, and Jordan Pitts.

Psyche intentionally blends opera and musical theatre, casting the mortals as musical theatre performers and the gods as classical opera singers.

Directed by Eamon Foley, the creative team consists of dramaturg Phoebe Corde, developmental producer Lauren Weinberger, vocal consultant Andrea Delgiudice, sound designer Kevin Heard, gender and sexuality consultant Shira Helena Gitlin, assistant music director Eduardo De La Vega, and general management company Evan Bernardin Productions.
