Elise Stone, who has been with Off-Off-Broadway's Jean Cocteau Repertory for many years, will get a chance to play one of the theatre's greatest roles come April 7, when she stars as the title character in Euripides' Medea. The new mounting of the Greek tragedy will begin performances April 7 and run in repertory with Brecht's Edward II, through May 21. Director Eve Adamson, in her approach to the text, has chosen to heighten certain moments in the story where Medea's fate could have turned out otherwise. Completing the cast are Jolie Garrett as the cad-ish Jason, Angela Madden as the Nurse, Craig Smith (Stone's husband) as Creon, Harris Berlinsky (currently starring as the aforementioned Edward II) as Aegis, Jason Crowl as the messenger and Christopher Black as the tutor. Playing the chorus are Jennifer Lee Dudek, Barbara Wengerd and Angela Moore.
