News Jennifer Garner Set to Play Miss Marple in New Disney Film Theatre and screen actress Jennifer Garner will portray the role of Miss Marple in a Disney film version based on the books made famous by Agatha Christie, according to Deadline.com.

Marple, the elderly spinster amateur detective, has typically been portrayed by older women, including Margaret Rutherford and Angela Lansbury. In the Disney remake, to be scripted by Mark Frost, Garner will play a younger version with a contemporary spin.

Garner was most recently seen on Broadway in Cyrano de Bergerac and will be starring on screen in the upcoming remake of "Arthur."

A date for the film has not yet been set.
