News Jennifer Hudson Tells Seth Meyers How She Dealt with an Audience Member Moving a Prop Jennifer Hudson appeared on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" Jan. 5 to share stories about making her Broadway debut in The Color Purple. Hudson, who plays the magnetic Shug Avery in the show, shared backstage stories and told how she's getting used to performing for a live audience.

In this clip, she tells about audience members who sing along, which she calls "Broadway karaoke," and about one who reached onto the stage to move a prop that apparently was blocking his view:
