Theatre Royal Bath’s 2019 Summer Season will feature a revival of Noël Coward's Blithe Spirit, starring British comedian Jennifer Saunders as well as a new version of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya by playwright David Hare, directed by and starring Golden Globe nominee Rupert Everett.

Kicking off the summer programming will be Noël Coward’s classic comedy Blithe Spirit, with Saunders as Madame Arcati. Former National Theatre Director Richard Eyre will direct the production, with design by Anthony Ward and lighting by Howard Harrison. Lisa Dillon will also star as Ruth Condomine, with further casting to be announced. Performances of Blithe Spirit will run June 13–July 6.

Next up will be Hare's adaptation of Uncle Vanya, set to run July 18–August 3, and starring Everett as the title character—a Russian who lives and manages a countryside estate on behalf of his brother-in-law. When the family member, now a retired professor, arrives with his beautiful and much younger new wife, the estate is thrown into turmoil. Full casting and a design team to be announced.

The full summer season will be announced in the future.
