News Jenny Bacon Will Return to Cast of Off-Broadway's My Name Is Asher Lev Jenny Bacon, who created the role of Rivkeh in Off-Broadway's My Name Is Asher Lev, which celebrated its 200th performance at The Westside Theatre May 22, will return to that part next month.

Beginning June 10 Bacon will once again join fellow cast members Ari Brand and Mark Nelson in the critically acclaimed drama, which recently won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Play.

“My producing partners and I are elated that audiences continue to be enraptured by the story of Asher Lev and his desire to follow his dreams,” said producer Darren Bagert in a statement. “After 200 performances and the original cast together again this summer, we know audiences will continue to be moved.”

My Name Is Asher Lev, which is based on the best-selling novel by Chaim Potok, features direction by Gordon Edelstein. The production also has set design by Eugene Lee, lighting design by James F. Ingalls, costume design by Ilona Somogyi and original music/sound design by John Gromada.

Set in post-war Brooklyn, My Name Is Asher Lev, according to press notes, "tells the coming-of-age story of a boy prodigy who must be an artist at any cost -- against the will of family, community and tradition. It is the powerful telling of a young artist with a universal theme to follow our passion – against everything."

Producers include Darren Bagert, Martin Massman, Ruth Hendel, Daryl Roth, Sharon Karmazin, Joan Raffe & Jhett Tolentino, HIGHBROW, Ted Snowdon and Jamie deRoy. Tickets are currently on sale through Sept. 1.
