Piven will play entrepreneur Harry Gordon Selfridge in the new series created by multi-award-winning writer Andrew Davies. Based on the book "Shopping, Seduction and Mr. Selfridge" by Lindy Woodhead, the series will begin production in April in London. ITV Studios produces.
Also in the cast are Katherine Kelly, Frances O'Connor, Gregory Fitoussi, Aisling Foftus, Trystan Gravelle and Zoe Tapper. The series' first director will be Jon Jones.
Piven is best known for his work on HBO's "Entourage," for which he won three Emmys and a Golden Globe for his portrayal as Ari Gold. He has also been seen in the films "Old School," "Serendipity" and "Black Hawk Down," among others.
