News Jersey Boys National Tour Returns to DC's National Theatre Beginning Nov. 10 The Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, makes its way back to Washington, D.C., in a return engagement at the National Theatre beginning Nov. 10.

The musical, which will continue through Jan. 7, 2012, is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff. Jersey Boys is written by Academy Award winner Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.

The cast of Jersey Boys is led by Preston Truman Boyd as Bob Gaudio, Joseph Leo Bwarie as Frankie Valli, John Gardiner as Tommy DeVito and Michael Lomenda as Nick Massi. The cast also includes Jonathan Hadley as Bob Crewe, Joseph Siravo as Gyp DeCarlo, Christopher DeAngelis, Lauren Dicierdo, John Michael Dias, Frankie J. Galasso, Buck Hujabre, Denise Payne, Mauricio Pérez, Timothy Quinlan, Kyli Rae, Brian Silverman, Kara Tremel, Mark Verdino, Donald Webber, Jr., Kevin Worley and Adam Zelasko.

The premiere engagement of Jersey Boys in Washington, D.C., was seen by more than 130,000 theatregoers, breaking the National Theatre’s box-office record previously held by Monty Python’s Spamalot, and going on to break its own record three more times.

The musical is the winner of the 2006 Best Musical Tony Award, the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, the 2009 Olivier Award for Best New Musical and the 2010 Helpmann Award for Best Musical (Australia).

Jersey Boys is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. According to press notes, "This is the story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty." Members of the production's creative team include scenic designer Klara Zieglerova, costume designer Jess Goldstein, lighting designer Howell Binkley, sound designer Steve Canyon Kennedy, projections designer Michael Clark, wig and hair designer Charles LaPointe with orchestrations by Steve Orich and music direction, vocal arrangements and incidental music by Ron Melrose.

The musical opened at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway to critical acclaim on Nov. 6, 2005. The first national tour opened to rave reviews in San Francisco on Dec. 1, 2006, played a record-breaking run in Los Angeles and is still breaking house records in cities across North America.

Jersey Boys is produced by Dodger Theatricals, Joseph J. Grano, Tamara and Kevin Kinsella, and Pelican Group, with Latitude Link and Rick Steiner.
