"Due to the exigent circumstances surrounding the wildfire situation in San Diego County," reads an announcement from the company, "the Tuesday evening October 23rd performance of Jersey Boys has been canceled." The show began performances at the California venue Oct. 18 and is scheduled to run through Nov. 11.

The announcement continued: "The safety and security of our patrons is of paramount importance and we do not wish to imperil anyone. In addition, we are concerned with the air quality and do not wish to put further burden on the already strained power grid."

Patrons with tickets for the Oct. 23 7:30 PM performance may return them at the point of purchase. Tickets may be refunded or exchanged for another performance.

As of press time, remaining performances of Jersey Boys are expected to go on as scheduled.

More than a dozen wildfires have continued to burn across seven counties of California — including Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties. Many buildings and homes have been destroyed while thousands are being evacuated in this state of emergency.
