News Jim Caruso's Cast Party to Reopen July 5 at Birdland Jim Caruso's Cast Party is on the move again. In its 15 months of celebrity mingling and performing, the acclaimed Monday-night series has played the King Kong Room, the Ars Nova Theater and Club Black's Pink Room.

Beginning July 5 Cast Party will take up residence at Birdland on West 44th Street. The opening night at the famed jazz club will feature actor-singer-host Caruso as well as Billy Stritch at the piano and Steve Doyle on bass. Partyers can also expect to enjoy a host of performers from the worlds of theatre and cabaret. The festivities begin at 9:30 PM as Caruso signs up those wishing to perform. Entertainers are called to the stage throughout the evening, taking their turns to thrill the crowd of theatre lovers. Since its inception, the lively social gathering has boasted impromptu performances by the likes of Liza Minnelli, Jason Alexander and Christine Ebersole.

Jim Caruso is the winner of four MAC Awards and two BackStage Magazine Bistro Awards. A founding member of the jazz vocal and comedy trio Wiseguys, Caruso's solo debut recording, "Caruso Live and in Person," is available on the LML Music label.
