News Jim J. Bullock Joins Broadway's Hairspray as New Spritzer and Pinky Jim J. Bullock, the character actor best known from his years playing Monroe Ficus on "Too Close for Comfort," has joined the cast of Broadway's Hairspray.

Bullock plays the roles of Ultra Clutch Hairspray magnate Harriman F. Spritzer and purveyor of clothing for ample-sized ladies, Mr. Pinky. The roles were created in the show by Joel Vig. The actor, once known as JM J. Bullock, has also acted on "Alf" and "Spaceballs." He recently starred in the new musical comedy, Moon Shine! under the direction of Ted Lange ("The Love Boat") at California's Theatre At the Grove.

The Tony-winning Hairspray has been playing at the Neil Simon Theatre since Aug. 15, 2002. Adapted from John Waters' film of the same name, it has music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan.
