The opening-night reception for the exhibition, entitled "Joel Grey/A New York Life," will take place April 11, Grey's 79th birthday. It will open to the public April 12 for a run through Aug. 8.

Memorabilia from several of Grey's past performances will be displayed, including the Emcee costume from Cabaret, a crown Grey wore in Goodtime Charley, and a costume sketch for George M! Original caricatures drawn by the late, legendary artist Al Hirschfeld will also be a part of the display, as will production Playbills, photographs, posters and costumes.

The event will also feature examples of Grey's many photographs of the city.

Grey is one of eight actors to have received the Tony and Academy Award for the same role – the Emcee in Cabaret. He also appeared on Broadway in Wicked and Chicago, and received additional Tony nominations for The Grand Tour, Goodtime Charley and George M! He appeared in the original production of The Normal Heart at the Public Theatre and directed a 25th anniversary staged reading at the Walter Kerr Theatre in October. Screen credits include "Choke," "Dancer in the Dark," "The Fantasticks," "The Player," "The Adventure Begins" and "The Seven Percent Solution." He recently guest starred on "Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice," "Brothers & Sisters" and "House."
