Described as a mix between a play and an opera, the work will cast Malkovich as an aging Casanova with Austrian baritone Florian Boesch appearing as his singing counterpart. Malkovich holds Drama Desk Awards for acting in Death of a Salesman (for which he also won an Emmy for the television adaptation) and for directing Balm in Gilead, as well as a Theatre World Award for acting in True West. A founding member of Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company, his other New York credits include Burn This and Arms and the Man. His screen credits include "Burn After Reading," "The Libertine," "Napoleon" (Emmy nomination), "RKO 281" (Emmy nomination), "Being John Malkovich," "In the Line of Fire" (Oscar nomination), "Of Mice and Men," "Dangerous Liaisons," "Empire of the Sun," "The Glass Menagerie," "The Killing Fields" and "Places in the Heart" (Oscar nomination).
