Classic Arts News John Paul II's Poetry to Be Set to Music and Performed by Plácido Domingo Tenor Plšcido Domingo and his son are planning to set the poetry of Pope John Paul II to music, Agence France-Presse reports.
Domingo, who performed for the late pontiff three times and admired him greatly, said that he found his poetry to have "great literary value."

He said, "I've asked my son Plšcido who is a composer to write a musical score for lyrics based on the verse of John Paul II.... I hope we will be able to make use of [them] very soon."

Domingo also said he expects John Paul II to be made a saint very soon. "He was a great pope, and it would not be a surprise if his successor wanted to call himself John Paul III," he added.
