News Jonathan Hammond Is Albin in Theatre By The Sea's La Cage aux Folles, Beginning Aug. 14 Theatre By The Sea's production of the award-winning Jerry Herman/Harvey Fierstein musical La Cage aux Folles plays the Rhode Island venue Aug. 14-Sept. 1.

“It has been a very exciting season at Theatre By The Sea and we are anxious to dazzle audiences with our sparkling all new production of La Cage aux Folles,” said TBTS owner and producer Bill Hanney in a previous statement. “Our costume designer, Marcia Zammarelli, is designing a spectacular brand new costume package for this production. The beautiful original designs will also be seen at North Shore Music Theatre, in Beverly, MA."

The cast features Jonathan Hammond (Albin), Peter Reardon (Georges), Zach Trimmer (Jean-Michel), Jenna Nicole Schoen (Anne), Casey Seymour Kim (Jacqueline), Tom Gleadow (Edouard Dindon), Leah Jennings (Mme. Dindon), Nikko Kimzin (Jacob) and Kevin Patrick Martin (Francis) with Todd Berkich (Renaud), Milly Boyce (Bitelle), Michelle Geosits (Babette), Becca Gotlieb (Angelique), Brett Hahalyak (Mercedes), Thomas Blake Hogan (Phaedra), Jacob Paulson (Odette), Arnie Roderiguez (Chantal), Demetrius Shields (Hanna), Joshua Skurnik (Etienne), Rayna Starr (Collette), Britte Steele (Mme. Renaud) and Alex Swift (Monique).

La Cage, according to press notes, "tells the story of Georges, the owner of a glitzy nightclub in lovely Saint-Tropez, and his partner, Albin, who moonlights as the glamorous chanteuse, Zaza. When Georges' son brings home his fiancee's conservative parents to meet the flashy pair, the bonds of family are put to the test!"

Director Charles Repole leads a creative team that also includes choreographer Michael Lichtefeld, musical director Ben Krauss, scenic designer Bert Scott, costume designer Marcia Zammarelli, lighting designer Bailey Costa, sound designer Mike Hyde, wig and drag makeup designer Michael Dates, stage manager Robin Grady, associate choreographer Joe Bowerman and assistant stage manager Duncan Northern.
