Discover presents a forum for performers of Asian ancestry — including Wonderland's Jose Llana and Spring Awakening's Kimiko Glenn — to gain exposure and experience performing roles not strictly Asian.

Out of 21 projects submitted for consideration, a panel of industry professionals selected Birthday, written by J. Oconer Navarro and directed by Diana Glazer; Crossing Over, written by Timothy Huang and directed by Dev Bondarin; and The Train to Chicago, written by Tom Kenaston and Tom Paitson-Kelly and directed by Michael Perreca.

Other cast members for the three projects include Nathan Atkinson, Lori Tan Chinn (M. Butterfly), Nathaniel P. Claridad, Ryan Cusino, MaryAnn Hu, Christine Toy Johnson, Deborah Lew (South Pacific), Kelvin Moon Loh, Amanda Morton, Maria-Christina Oliveras (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Jon Norman Schneider (Off-Broadway's Queens Boulevard), Herman Sebek and Hansel Tan.

The evening is produced in partnership with Ellen Rusconi and Nikole Vallins and is supported by grants from Lower Manhattan Cultural Council through their programs Fund for Creative Communities and Manhattan Community Arts Fund.

The 47th Street Theatre is located at 304 West 47th Street. For reservations, email [email protected]. A suggested donation of $10 per ticket will be taken at the door.
