News Joseph Harrington Will Be Broadway's Tenth Billy Elliot Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment announced Oct. 5 that Joseph Harrington will join the cast of the Tony-winning musical Billy Elliot at the Imperial Theatre.

The 11-year-old Harrington will become the tenth Billy to perform on Broadway.  His first performance date will be announced soon.

Harrington made his Broadway debut in How the Grinch Stole Christmas when he was eight and performed as the “Young Boy” in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Nashville the following year.  He has danced in the Nutcracker and Peter Pan with Cincinnati Ballet. Most recently he was a dancer in the “Mega Music Festival” on Nickelodeon and starred in the DVD “The Boy Ballet Dancer” with Finis Jhung.

Billy Elliot, the tale of a working-class community and a boy who wants to be a ballet dancer, features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry. It won the Tony Award for Best Musical.

Broadway performances continue at the Imperial Theatre on West 45th Street.
