The smash hit production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat starring Donny Osmond will return to Toronto for a fourth engagement beginning March 12, 1997 at the Elgin Theatre. Earlier this year, Livent filed a suit against the owners of the Elgin Theatre, the Ontario Heritage Foundation, in the pursuit to present Joseph in that domain. After many deliberations, an injunction was granted which prohibited the foundation from licensing the Elgin Theatre to anyone other than Livent. Matters aren't fully settled yet, other issues in the action are pending through further court proceedings.
Currently, Livent's production of Joseph is touring North America and continues to enjoy box office success -- to date Joseph has grossed more that $200,000,000 since it's Toronto premiere five years ago.
