The new musical, which features music by Salzman and a book and lyrics by Cunningham and concludes the company's season, is directed by TriArts artistic director John Simpkins, with Joshua Zecher-Ross as music director.

The cast includes Jenna Pastuszek, Matthew Tracey, Ashley Sweetman and Sergio Pasquariello.

Here's how the new musical is billed: "Next Thing You Know is an original musical of four New Yorkers as they laugh, love and drink their way through the big questions that face all young dreamers who wake up in the city that never sleeps. Does marrying a really nice guy mean you're settling down or just settling? Does taking a nine-to-five equal giving up or growing up? Does a decade in the city break you down or break you in?"

Salzman and Cunningham are recent Jonathan Larson Award winners. Developed with Simpkins, the show has had readings and workshop productions at NYU Steinhardt, CAP 21 and a recently released album.

Other members of the creative team include Erik Diaz (sets), Jamie Roderick (lights), Michelle Humphrey (costumes) and Thomas J. Coppola (production stage manager).

Performances are held Aug. 8 at 7 PM, Aug. 9-10 at 8 PM and Aug. 11 at 5 PM.

The TriArts Sharon Playhouse is located at 49 Amenia Road in Sharon, CT. For more information and tickets, call (860) 364-7469 or visit TriArts.net.
