Benjamin Millepied & Company, a group led by the NYCB principal dancer, will make its Joyce debut in March. The performances will include guest appearances by American Ballet Theatre stars Gillian Murphy and Ethan Stiefel. At the Joyce Theater Gala on March 15, the company will perform Millepied's We Were Two with live accompaniment by composer Philip Glass.
Other season highlights include the New York premiere of Ronald K. Brown's Order My Steps and the world premiere of Petronio's BLOOM, set to an original score by singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright.
From April 25 to May 7, the Joyce will host the 1-2-3 Festival, with performances in repertory by Ailey II, American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, and Taylor 2. The festival opens on April 25 with an evening featuring all three companies.
