Obie-winning playwright Julia Jarcho (Grimly Handsome) takes on Racine’s Phèdre in her newest play, Pathetic. A riff on the classic tragedy, the new drama sees teenage girls experiment with sex, magic, and murder while mom sinks deep into lust and self-loathing.

Written and directed by Jarcho, Pathetic features a cast made up of Jordan Baum, Kim Gainer, Kristine Haruna Lee, Linda Mancini, Jennifer Seastone, and Ben Jalosa Williams.

The world premiere will run June 5–23 at the Abrons Arts Center in a production from Jarcho's company, Minor Theater. Tickets are available here.

Pathetic features production design by Ásta Bennie Hostetter, lighting design by Christina Wantanabe, sound design by Ben Williams, and video design by Jennifer Seastone. Ann Marie Dorr is the show's producer.

Jarcho and Minor Theater return to Abrons following last year's sold-out horror show, The Terrifying.
