The Jan. 23 event is produced by Jeremy Merrifield as part of the Broadway By The Beach series. Daniel Goldstein (Godspell) directs Songs for a New World, which will take place at 6 PM and 8:30 PM.

The production will feature music direction by Christopher Haberl and musical staging by Lorin Lattaro.

Songs for a New World is characterized as "a series of songs connected by the theme 'the moment of decision.' The show employs four performers who do not play the same characters throughout the show, but have consistently developing character arcs."

Daisy Prince directed the original 1995 Off-Broadway production of Songs for a New World, which received a Toronto workshop prior to its New York debut later that year at the WPA Theatre. A cast album preserves the work. It premiered at England's Bridewell Theatre in 2001. Brown is a three-time Tony Award winner. His musicals also include Parade13, The Last Five Years, The Bridges of Madison County and Honeymoon in Vegas.
