News Julie White Relives Bad Dates for Boston's Huntington, Jan. 2-Feb. 1 The recent Playwrights Horizons solo show, Bad Dates by Theresa Rebeck, is set to open the new year at Boston's Huntington Theatre, Jan. 2-Feb. 1, 2004.

Original Off-Broadway star Julie White will reprise her role for director John Benjamin Hickey — who made his directorial debut with the work. The Boston staging is set to open Jan. 7, 2004 at the Boston University Theatre.

In a play penned for her, White stars as restaurant manager and shoe connoisseur Haley Walker who has recently rejoined the dating scene. As she prepares for yet another evening out, the character relates her experiences with dates.

White appeared in the 1986 Huntington staging of On the Verge. The actress who has also been seen in Rebeck's Spike Heels and The Family of Mann guest starred on HBO’s "Six Feet Under" in the recurring role of funeral diva Mitzi Dalton Huntley. Other stage credits include The Heidi Chronicles, Dinner With Friends and Barbra's Wedding.

The design team for Bad Dates features Derek McLane (set), Mattie Ullrich (costumes), Frances Aronson (lighting), and Bruce Ellman (sound).

Bad Dates replaced the slot left vacated by the shifted production of Butley starring Nathan Lane when the previously announced world premiere of Jon Robin Baitz's The Paris Letter was postponed due to "artist's scheduling difficulties." For tickets to Bad Dates, call the Huntington Box Office (617) 266-0800 or visit them online at www.huntingtontheatre.org.
