Classic Arts News Jung-Ho Pak Appointed Artistic Director of San Diego Chamber Orchestra Jung-Ho Pak has been appointed artistic director of the San Diego Chamber Orchestra, the ensemble announced today. His tenure begins with the 2006-2007 season.
Pak appeared as guest conductor with the orchestra in January and November 2005. He is currently in his seventh season as music director of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra.

Pak's previous experience includes conducting the San Diego Symphony from 1997 to 2002; he has also served as music director at the University of Southern California Symphony and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Pak replaces Donald Barra, who founded the San Diego Chamber Orchestra in 1984 and retired last season. The ensemble, which performs in venues throughout the San Diego area, has released seven recordings on Koch International.
