Hosted by MAC nominee Justin Sayre, The Meeting* will begin at 9:30 PM and pay tribute to John Waters (Hairspray). Songwriter Lance Horne will be the evening's special guest; Christian Campbell (Reefer Madness) and Lea DeLaria (Off-Broadway's Out of Iceland) are set to perform.
The Meeting*, according to press notes, "operates under the myth of the 'gay agenda' and is structured as any organizational meeting for homosexuals would be – business of the day, upcoming events and social issues are discussed, ridiculed, and interwoven between comedy sketches, musical numbers, and other 'homo-hijinks.'" Each edition of The Meeting* honors a different gay icon.
The monthly events have featured guest stars such as Frank DeCaro, Lady Rizo, Tituss Burgess, Natalie Joy Johnson, Kenny Mellman, Randy Rainbow, Maude Maggart, Jack Ferver, Murray Hill, Jeffery Self and Cole Escola, Molly Pope, Steve Hayes, Bridget Everett, Poor Baby Bree and more.
The Meeting* will also present its 2012 Night of A Thousand Judys, directed by Ben Rimalower and honoring Judy Garland, June 18 at Playwrights Horizons.
