News Karen Mason and Brent Barrett Sing Happy April 9 in NYC The Broadway at Birdland concert series continues April 9 with an evening featuring theatre favorites Karen Mason and Brent Barrett.

The concert, which is entitled Sing Happy, begins at 7 PM.

"These two great friends will combine their spectacular voices to celebrate the music of their lives, with a special emphasis on the songs of the great songwriting team Kander & Ebb," according to press notes.

Karen Mason has appeared on Broadway in WonderlandMamma Mia!, Sunset Boulevard, Jerome Robbins' Broadway and Torch Song Trilogy. Her Off-Broadway credits include And the World Goes 'Round and Carnival, and she has also been seen on the small screen in "Law & Order" and "As the World Turns." A seven-time MAC Award-winning performer, Mason has charmed audiences at Carnegie Hall, Rainbow & Stars, Davenport's and L.A.'s The Cinegrill. Her solo recordings include "The Sweetest of Nights," "When the Sun Comes Out," "Better Days," "Not So Simply Broadway" and "Christmas! Christmas! Christmas!"

Barrett, who will soon join the national tour of Peter Pan, played a two-year stint in the title role of Phantom – the Las Vegas Spectacular and received an Olivier Award nomination for his role in the London company of Kiss Me, Kate. He recently appeared in the Off-Broadway run of Silence! The Musical and the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre production of Follies. His other theatrical credits include the Broadway productions of Annie Get Your Gun, Chicago, Grand Hotel, Dance a Little Closer, West Side Story and Candide. Barrett received a Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for his work in the L.A. production of Chicago and has been seen Off-Broadway in Closer Than Ever, March of the Falsettos, The Death of Von Richtofen, The Time of the Cuckoo and Portrait of Jenny. His television and film appearances include "Hercules," "Longtime Companion," "All My Children," "Another World" and "Guiding Light."
