On Dec. 5 the acclaimed singing actress is the special guest of Russ Lorenson for his 7th Annual Christmas Show at The Rrazz Room in San Francisco. This jazzy Christmas event, which begins at 8 PM, features songs by Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, Jule Styne, Sammy Cahn and Frank Loesser.
On Dec. 10 and 17 Mason will return to Manhattan to offer Christmas! Christmas! Christmas! at 54 Below. In addition to holiday favorites, Mason will also perform the title tune from the indefinitely postponed Rebecca. Mason will be accompanied by Bob Renino on bass and musical directors Christopher Denny (Dec. 10 performance) and James Followell (Dec. 17 performance).
Mason will then bring Christmas! Christmas! Christmas! to Davenport's in Chicago Dec. 12, 14, 15, 19, 22 and 23. She will be joined in the Windy City by Beckie Menzie. All shows begin at 8 PM, except for Dec. 23, which starts at 7 PM.
In other news, Mason's one-woman show, which is entitled Unfinished Business, will be further developed at CAP21 Theatre in February 2013. The show is a tribute to her late friend, composer Brian Lasser.
Karen Mason has appeared on Broadway in Wonderland, Mamma Mia!, Sunset Boulevard, Jerome Robbins' Broadway and Torch Song Trilogy. Her Off-Broadway credits include And the World Goes 'Round and Carnival, and she has also been seen on the small screen in "Law & Order" and "As the World Turns."
