Cabaret & Concert News Karen Ziemba and Klea Blackhurst Headline Alec Wilder Tribute The April concert pays tribute to the composer of “I’ll Be Around.”

Cabaret singer Klea Blackhurst and Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba headline the 32nd Annual Alec Wilder Tribute Concert, April 8 at Feinstein’s/54 Below, saluting the late composer of standards “I’ll Be Around,” “While We're Young," “Blackberry Winter,” "Where Do You Go,” “It’s So Peaceful in the Country," and the Christmas carol “A Child Is Born.”

Blackhurst will host the 9:30 PM concert, which will feature Ziemba, recently seen Off-Broadway in Kid Victory and winner of the Tony Award for Contact, plus MAC, Bistro, and NY Nightlife Award winners Steve Ross, Eric Comstock, Natalie Douglas, and Barbara Fasano, as well as Alexa Green, Andrew Keltz, The Playbillies, Andrea Prestinario), Adam Shapiro, and Brian Wilson, and Tony nominee and Theatre World Award winner Walter Willison.

The tribute concert is organized each year by The Friends of Alec Wilder. Aaron Gandy serves as producer and as co-writer along with Willison, who will direct the evening, with music direction by Evan Zavada. Wilder contributed to the score for the short-lived 1942 musical Once Over Lightly, and enjoyed a career in classical and pop, including collaborations with the likes of Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee.
