Based on a series of intimate interviews, Gomez's monologue play demonstrates the power of speaking truth. In the way she spoke, an actor enters a theatre, picks up a script, and begins to read. The story that unfolds details disturbing and haunting accounts of the murder of thousands of women in Juarez, Mexico, and one playwright’s journey of discovery and responsibility.

The creative team includes Riccardo Hernandez (scenic design), Emilio Sosa (costume design), Lap Chi Chu (lighting design), Elisheba Ittoop (sound design), and Aaron Rhyne (projection design).

As with previous Audible productions at the Minetta Lane, the audio production company will also record and release the way she spoke as an audio play. Next up at the Minetta Lane, Audible presents Chisa Hutchinson's Proof of Love. Previews begin May 7.

Gomez' other plays include La Ruta, which received its world premiere at Steppenwolf Theater Company. Among other things, he is the recipient of the 2018 Dramatists Guild Lanford Wilson Award, the 2017 Jeffry Melnick New Playwright Award at Primary Stages, a Resident Playwright at Chicago Dramatists, an Artistic Associate with Victory Gardens Theater, Ensemble Member with Teatro Vista, and an advisory committee member of the Latinx Theatre Commons (LTC).
