A story of friendship set against the backdrop of musical theatre, the new book will be released by Penguin Feb. 10, 2015.

“Jack Goodrich has quite the impressive résumé for a twelve-year-old. With two Broadway shows under his belt and a third in rehearsals, he is weeks away from recording his first original cast album," according to press notes. "But when his voice suddenly changes, Jack loses his dream role and moves with his parents to Shaker Heights, Ohio. As Jack tries to navigate life in the suburbs, his neighbor Louisa refuses to let him leave his New York past behind. Louisa is a self-proclaimed 'Musical Theater Nerd' and can hardly believe her luck when an actor moves in down the street. What’s more, the local theater has announced auditions for her favorite show, Into the Woods. As the tryouts loom nearer, the two face difficult choices. Should Jack risk humiliation and return to the stage? Will Louisa have the confidence to go it alone? And can their friendship survive all those complicated octave leaps?"
