Katharine McPhee will show off her pipes and pies on Broadway a little while longer. The Smash, Scorpion, and American Idol star has extended her limited engagement in Waitress; she’ll now take on the role of Jenna through August 19 instead of the previously scheduled June 17.

McPhee will not appear in the show from June 19–July 3.

McPhee began performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre April 10, marking her Broadway debut. She does, however, have musical theatre ties, having attended Boston Conservatory for three semesters, starring in an L.A. production of Annie Get Your Fun, and turning Broadway hopeful-turned-star Karen Cartwright on NBC’s musical drama Smash.
