News Kathleen Chalfant and Laila Robins to Read Garbo's Last Walk in NYC Kathleen Chalfant and Laila Robins will star in a New York City reading of Garbo's Last Walk March 5.

The new dark comedy by Kristof Bathory will play at the Arthur Seelan Theatre (below the Drama Book Shop) March 5 at 7 PM.

"In 1942, Greta Garbo, the screen's most mysterious actress, left Hollywood forever, hiding herself in her New York apartment for the rest of her life," reads show materials. "All she seemed to care about were her walks. In 1990 . . . she took her last walk."

Chalfant, last seen Off-Broadway in Great Expectations, was in the original casts of Wit, Angels in America: Millennium Approaches and Angels in America: Perestroika. She has also appeared on Broadway in M. Butterfly, Bloomer Girl, Dance With Me and Racing Demon as well as Off-Broadway in Henry V, The Last Letter, Savannah Bay and Talking Heads — the latter two, at times, in the same evening — as well as the HBO Films version of The Laramie Project.

Robins was last seen on Broadway in Heartbreak House opposite her Frozen co-star Swoosie Kurtz. She also played Off-Broadway recently in Sore Throats. Other credits include Broadway's The Herbal Bed and The Real Thing and Off-Broadway's Tiny Alice and Mrs. Klein.
