News Keen Company Will Devote Season to Playwright Michael Frayn; Casting Announced The Keen Company will celebrate the work of Tony Award-winning U.K. playwright Michael Frayn — with productions of Benefactors and Alphabetical Order — during its tenth anniversary season Off-Broadway.

Artistic director Carl Forsman will direct the U.S. premiere of Alphabetical Order, which will run Sept. 14-Oct. 26. An official opening has been set for Sept. 26 at the Clurman Theatre.

Alphabetical Order will feature Brad Bellamy, William Connell, John Windsor Cunningham, Margaret Daly, Paul Molnar, Angela Reed and Audrey Lynn Weston.

According to the Keen Company, "Set in a provincial newspaper office in the 1970s, where it’s just another day of chaos in the cuttings library: files all over the floor, phones ringing, but where is Lucy the librarian? Her life (when she finally arrives), and the lives of the journalists who take refuge in her muddled retreat, turn out to be as confused as the library itself. Into this comfortable little world steps Lesley, Lucy's new assistant. She's young, bright, and she wants system and order. Things are about to change."

The Keen Company's spring production will be a 25th anniversary staging of Frayn's 1984, four-character play Benefactors. The engagement will reflect Frayn's 2009 revision of the Tony-nominated play, which played the Hampstead Theater. Dates of production have not been announced.

Frayn earned a Tony Award for his 2000 play Copenhagen. His plays also include Noises Off, Wild Honey, Democracy and Afterlife. Tickets are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting Telecharge.
