Berkshire Playwrights Lab founding co-artistic director Cacaci authored the 1965-set work about a black musician and white singer on the rise to fame.

The free staged reading will take place at 8 PM at the Monument Mountain Regional High School in Great Barrington, MA.

Burgess (Guys and Dolls, The Little Mermaid) and Bryggman (Proof, Twelve Angry Men) will be joined by Ylfa Edelstein and two additional actors to be announced.

According to BPL, "Set in New York City in 1965, Keeping Time tells the story of two close friends. Willie is a black pianist, composer, and singer. Paul is a white singer. The two men have a long-running act and are finally on the brink of getting their big break when they get caught up in and caught off guard by the civil rights movement, threatening both their friendship and their dream. Complicating the action are Bennie (their longtime manager), Rose (a journalist), and Anna (a dancer)."

Keeping Time will feature an original song with music by Bennie Wallace and lyrics by Cacaci.

For reservations phone (413) 528-0100 or visit the Mahaiwe box office, located at 14 Castle Street, Great Barrington, MA.
