News Kelli O'Hara Misses Weekend Performances of The King and I Due to Illness Tony-winner Kelli O'Hara has been out of performances of The King and I since Friday night due to a severe flu. Her standby, Betsy Morgan, has been playing Anna Leonowens in her absence.

According to press representatives, O'Hara was very sorry to have missed the weekend's performances, just days after winning the 2015 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in the role. They said she plans to return to the show this Tuesday June 16.

The King and I, which won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Revival, is currently playing the Vivian Beaumont Theater, following an official opening on April 16. Featuring music by Richard Rodgers and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, the Bartlett Sher-directed production also features Ken Watanabe and fellow Tony winner Ruthie Ann Miles

The story follows schoolteacher Anna Leonowens (O'Hara) who travels from England to Siam to serve as governess to the king's many children.
