News Kennedy Center Gala, Featuring Barbara Cook and Brian Stokes Mitchell, Presented April 3 The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents its 19th annual Kennedy Center Spring Gala April 3 at 8:30 PM in the Kennedy Center Opera House.

Entitled Michael Kaiser at the Kennedy Center: A Celebration of Ten Years, the event is hosted by Smokey Robinson and features a selection of performers who have worked with Kaiser over the years.

Scheduled to entertain are Barbara Cook; Renée Fleming; Brian Stokes Mitchell; Jean-Yves Thibaudet; Paloma Herrera and Cory Stearns of American Ballet Theatre; Megan Fairchild and Andrew Veyette of New York City Ballet; and Michael Cook and Elisabeth Holowchuk or The Suzanne Farrell Ballet. The evening also features the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by music director Christoph Eschenbach and the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra conducted by James Moore.

The evening is co-chaired by Adrienne Arsht, Betsy DeVos, Alma Gildenhorn, Helen Henderson, Ann Jordan, Alma Powell, Catherine B. Reynolds and Vicki Sant.

Michael M. Kaiser has been President of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts since 2001.

The black-tie evening begins with a reception on the River Terrace at 5 PM followed by an elegant dinner on the Roof Terrace level at 6 PM. The Gala performance begins at 8:30 PM in the Concert Hall. The evening concludes with ‘Til Midnight, a cocktails and dancing party, in the Roof Terrace Restaurant.
