News Kennedy Center Will Get Up Close and Personal with the Bergmans May 15 The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' Broadway: Up Close and Personal series will continue May 15.

The 6 PM performance in the Kennedy Center's Family Theater will spotlight the career of the award-winning lyricists Alan and Marilyn Bergman. The one-night-only event, according to press notes, invites theatergoers to "join Alan and Marilyn Bergman as they share some of their lives, loves and musical successes." Guests artists will be announced at a later date.

Oscar-winning lyricists Marilyn and Alan Bergman have written such songs as "The Way We Were," "The Promise," "Papa, Can You Hear Me?," "It Might Be You" and "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" They also wrote the lyrics for the Broadway musicals Something More! and Ballroom.
