A sixty-voice choir and the talents of Lauren Kennedy, Adriane Lenox and Keith Byron Kirk will perform the music of Jason Robert Brown with the composer Oct. 25 at New York City's Cooper Union.
Kennedy, soon to be Fantine in Les Miserables, will sing some selections from her forthcoming album of Brown's tunes. Lenox, recently featured on Broadway in Kiss Me, Kate will perform "Coming Together" with the choir, while Kirk, a veteran of Parade on tour and The Civil War on Broadway, will sing the role of Christopher Columbus from Songs for a New World. Forbidden Broadway's Kristine Zbornik will perform the comic "Surabaya-Santa," a piece from New World she wrote with Brown.
There will also be several world premiere songs from a new Brown project, as well as music from the Tony-winning Parade and The Last Five Years. There may also be a movement from Brown's new string quartet, set for premiere by ETHEL in November.
Tickets are $20. Cooper Union is located at 7 East 7th Street at 7th Avenue. For reservations, call (212) 279-4200.
